Communiqué des commissaires (en version originale)
Little Big Man was slow to begin. The stewards questioned trainer Allet and jockey Emamdee in relation to the handling of Sardonyx in the early stages. Trainer Allet explained he instructed jockey Emamdee to endeavour to jump well and obtain a forward position. He added he expected the gelding to be running in the first three and with the good running he expected the gelding to be competitive. Jockey Emamdee confirmed these instructions and explained his mount was fractious in the gates, jumped with its head up and despite his urgings in the early stages was inclined to race ungenerously with its head up and approaching the 800 metres, when runners on his outside crossed in front, had to steady from the heels of Silent Screen and as a result of this was further back than he would have wished, then from the 300 metres he took his mount out, however the gelding failed to accelerate and was disappointing. Passing the 300 metres Little Big Man ran onto the heels of Dane’s Castle and had to be steadied. Approaching the 100 metres Wide Blue Sky rolled in crowding Little Big Man which had to be steadied. The Stewards questioned trainer Maigrot and jockey Cahill in relation to the handling of Silent Screen. Trainer Maigrot explained he instructed jockey Cahill to endeavour to jump well, cross onto the rails and race in a mid-field position. Jockey Cahill confirmed these instructions and explained after jumping well was then able to follow his instructions. However, from the 400 metres his mount was under pressure, then shortly after straightening his reins got entangled with the neck strap, placing him at a disadvantage for four or five strides. After this, his mount was able to make up some ground under pressure. The Club’s Veterinary Surgeon reported that Sardonyx was lame after the race. This gelding will require a veterinary certificate of soundness before racing again.
Routine urine specimen was taken for analysis from Sure Thing after the race.
