Training, this morning, is of particular importance: most of the participants to the Maiden Cup engage in a final major workout before the big race on Sunday. The weather is fine, and some 200 training enthusiasts are present. Robbie Burke rides several horses from different Stables, such as Captain's Key (Maigrot) Mathafa (M.Ramdin), Princely Reason (Raj Ramdin) and Don’t Say Don’t (Perdrau).
Il Saggiatore (Hatt) and Senor Versace (Neisius) gallop on the grass track and clock 49.41 on 800m, finishing in 25.10, at ease. Super Storm (Ségéon) works alongside The Money Is Yours (Rama) on the sand track. Chrono: 01.03.42 over 1000m, 600m in 37.85, 400m in 25.87. Druid's Moon (Geroudis) runs 600m on the sand track in 36.85, freely, ending in 24.14.
Esteco (Woodworth) gallops on the main track, accompanied by Rulerofmyheart over the last 600 meters, and he just sprints the last 400 in 25.77. Intercontinental (Geroudis) travels 800m on the main track besides Amazing Bolt (Teeha), and covers the distance in 48.91, finishing in 25.49. He displays great physical condition. Ice Axe and Rudi Rocks work lightly, alone, on the small track.
Two barrier trials take place as from 6:50. In the first group, there is Eli's Connection, Elusive River - who makes a good impression - Cash Lord (Gujadhur), Clear As Day Light (Allet) and Read My Heart (Henry). The second group consists of The Raj, Admiral's Cup (Gujadhur), Cirac (R. Gujadhur) and Railway Best (Ramdin).
We learn that the participation of Acuppa and Druid's Moon to the Maiden is doubtful.
