Communiqué des commissaires (en version originale)
Silverware was slow to begin. Huizard jumped awkwardly. Kilto was slow into stride. Passing the winning post the first time Silverware brushed the running rails, shifted ground, brushing Huizard. Huizard then became unbalanced, jumped the crossing and ducked out. Champ In Action, which was following had to be steadied. Shoot For The Moon, which was following, was also inconvenienced. At the 1000 metre-crossing Advance Strike became unbalanced lay in crowding Silverware, Silverware then over-raced for some distance following this. Oisin Breeze over-raced in the middle stages. Advanced Strike raced wide throughout. Huizard raced wide rounding the
home turn. Harriman lay out in the early part of the home straight. Kilto had difficulty in obtaining clear running over the concluding stages. The Stewards questioned trainer P. Merven and jockey Jacobson in relation to the handling of Kilto. Trainer Merven explained that the gelding missed work as a result of injury and was better suited over a longer journey. He also considered that there was a lot of speed in this race, therefore he instructed jockey Jacobson to endeavour to jump well and then cross onto the rails as soon as possible. Jockey Jacobson confirmed these instructions, explained that after jumping awkwardly took his mount onto the rails, then in the home straight was able to make up some ground. Their explanations were noted.
Routine urine specimens were taken for analysis from Champ In Action, Huizard, Shoot For The Moon and Silverware prior to the race and from Harry’s Game after the race.
