Gilbert Rousset seems to be enjoying the best time of his training career, winning two consecutive Best Trainers’ Award in 2010 and 2011. His stable is also in outstanding form and has gone one better, winning three consecutive titles.
In the last few years, the stable has invested in some quality horses and this has allowed the talented and experienced trainer to put his stable in a very powerful position. Gilbert Rousset will undoubtedly strive to maintain that position this coming season.

Jockey: J. Geroudis
Johnny Geroudis, The smallest (1m50) of all the jockeys in action at the Champ de Mars this season, Johnny Geroudis has proved in Mauritius, Singapore and South Africa that he is a very gifted rider. He has been associated with Lagesse, Maigrot and Allet Stables, before signing mid-way during the 2010 racing season with Rousset, the current Champion Stable. In his eventful career, he has scored more than 2000 wins, with 2 Maiden Cups on Evader (1991) and more recently on Captain’s Knock (2010). He has also been successful in The July Handicap on Teal. He has partnered many outstanding horses, namely cracks Horse Chesnut and Disa Leader. Married last year at 40, he rides at 54kg.
