Stewards' Report

Paris Skye reared at the start. Shortly after the start Paris Skye and Majuba’s Flag came together. Shortly after the start Midnite Mass and Up In Arms came together. Up In Arms then rolled out brushing Shooter. Shortly after the start Camden’s Choice rolled out, brushing Hope And Fortune. Shooter raced wide in the early and middle stages. Up In Arms was taken wide from the 400 metres. At the 300 metres Majuba’s Flag, when taken around Paris Skye, carried Medal Ceremony wider on the track. The Stewards questioned jockey Joorawon in relation to the disappointing performance of Shooter. He explained from an outside barrier, although racing in a forward position, was unable to cross and was obliged to race wide in the early and middle stages and at the 400 metres commenced to give ground and was disappointing. Jockey Azis, the rider of Paris Skye, was warned for possible excessive use of the whip. Routine urine specimens were taken for analysis from Paris Skye and Greek Flag prior to the race and from Dunedin Star after the race.
