The was no surprise in the prestigious Phoenix Maiden Cup. Indeed, the two fancied horses, Captain’s Knock and Senor Versace, who were the best horses in this field finished respectively 1st and 2nd. Solar Symbol of Gujadhur Stable made a very impressive race and finished third.
As expected, Solar Symbol took the lead and had in his wake Naughty Prince and Saubestre while Frusk and Captain’s Knock were in the middle. Senor Versace and Teamog were at the rear. At the 400m mark, Frusk launched his attack but Solar Symbol and Naughty Prince did not throw the towel. Jockey Johnny Geroudis managed to take out his mount from the interior fence. Senor Versace and Teamog also launched their attack.

Solar Symbol et Naughty Prince remained very much in contention but the devastating finish of Captain’s Knock was just sublime. Likewise for Senor Versace in the inside. Well done Geroudis , well done Rousset Stable !
