Newcomer Chequer (R.Burke) won his debut in the third race over 1000m. He remained in the wake of the leaders while Volte Face was the the first to settle infront.
Sovereign Service tried to place himself on the outside. In the homestraight, Chequer finished strongly on the outside to win in front of Volte Face.
Storm Valley secured third spot and Cypress Express completed the quartet.
